Let’s jump right into our Onn 65-inch TV review to find out if Onn’s new entry is too good to be true. Or if it really provides 4K picture quality, Smart TV capabilities, and a 65-inch large screen.
Onn 65-inch TV review: First thoughts
This TV can be connected to the Roku mobile app which can be controlled via voice command. It also comes with an easy-to-use remote that has many of the same buttons you would find on a standard Roku remote. It comes with a TV stand that provides enough stability, and it has 300 x 200 VESA mounting holes. At 53 pounds and 65 inches diagonally, you’ll probably need some help setting it up.

The sound system is nothing special, but that is to be expected when buying a budget TV, especially one this big. You’ll need a soundbar or speakers to enjoy premium sound quality when using this television or simply plug in a pair of headphones.
The TV comes with inbuilt wireless connectors, so you can stream content directly on it. Pictures are clear, crisp, with rich colors. It comes with a 60Hz refresh rate which isn’t the best for gaming, but it’s good enough. Other noteworthy specs that come with this TV include:
- HDR
- 300 x 200 VESA mounting holes
- LED screen
- Three HDMI ports, one USB port, one composite port, one coaxial cable port, one ethernet port, and a headphone jack.
- 4K (2160p)
- Roku interface and remote (batteries included)
- Netflix, Disney+, VUDU, HBO, Peacock, Hulu, Starz, Showtime, Sling, Apple TV, Google Play, Starz, and LG Channels apps available
- 60Hz refresh rate
Pros:
- Amazing value
- Loaded with Popular steaming apps
- Can be voice-controlled via the Roku mobile app
- Comes with a headphone jack
- Good picture quality
Cons:
- Meh sound system
- Onn isn’t an established TV maker
Onn 65-inch TV review verdict: Almost too good to be true
Onn isn’t exactly an established brand when it comes to televisions, but you’ll have a hard time finding a better deal than a 65-inch TV that sells for a little more than 200 bucks. Onn has an exclusive deal with Walmart, and an extra $25 gets you a three-year protection plan. Given how new Onn is as a television manufacturer, we recommend covering yourself with one of those.
