H2 JBL Live 675NC review: Build
JBL Live 675NC headphones have a sturdy build thanks to the solid plastic that forms much of their exterior. For extra comfort, there’s padding on the section of the headphones that sits on your head.
Metal hinges connect the earcups to the rest of the headphones. These hinges let you fold the earcups to make the headphones more compact when you store them, and they also allow you to adjust the earcups as you wear them.
The ear cups are small compared to those of many on-ear and over-ear headphones. Some people may find the JBL Live 675NC small, tight, and uncomfortable.
Ports and controls
A USB charging port is at the bottom edge of the left earcup. The bottom edge of the right earcup has a 3.5mm audio jack for connecting an audio cable. You will also find the following controls on the right earcup:
- On/Off button
- Volume buttons with a Play/Pause button in between
- Bluetooth
- Ambient noise canceling button
Pressing the Play/Pause button answers an incoming call, and pressing it again disconnects the call. Together, the physical controls on the JBL 675NC are enough to perform basic operations on the headphones.

JBL Live 675NC review: Companion app
The JBL Live 675NC comes with a companion app compatible with Android and Apple devices. The app offers valuable features such as an equalizer, a voice assistant, and noise control settings. These features allow you to:
- Customize sound output depending on the type of audio you’re listening to
- Choose between Alexa and Google Assistant
- Adjust the settings for the Active Noise-canceling feature
The physical controls and the app deliver convenience and a good user experience. Still, sound quality is the most critical measure of a set of headphones.
Sound profile
The JBL 675NC headphones have a sound stage that allows different audio elements to stand out. However, the drivers produce deep, punchy bass that can overwhelm the mid-range and treble. The good news is that you can use the equalizer in the companion app to create a sound profile you like.
Mid-range elements sound just right, while treble elements may sound off. Again, the companion app’s equalizer can help you set the treble.
