Surface Laptop Go review: First thoughts
Microsoft has come to the rescue with the release of the Surface Laptop Go. On paper, it’s one of the most impressive budget laptops released with a 12.4-inch touchscreen display, a 256GB hard drive, 8GB of RAM, and a 10th generation Intel Core i5 processor that powers everything. The processor is powerful enough to handle the demands of many of the top games available and video editing. There is also an entry-level model for people who want something even cheaper. These come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. You likely won’t enjoy gaming or other resource-intensive activities on the lower-end models, but it will easily handle all of your computing needs.

Design
The Surface Laptop Go comes with a sleek design like many of its predecessors. It comes with a good-enough keyboard and a touchpad. It comes with both a USB-A and a USB-C port. The higher-end version comes with a fingerprint reader to protect the information on your laptop.
There’s also an inbuilt 720p webcam, which is pretty standard. Even higher-end laptops rarely have high-resolution cameras. If you plan to spend lots of time recording videos with your laptop, invest in a high-resolution camera.
The Surface Laptop Go comes with inbuilt Wi-Fi connectivity and its runs on Windows 10 software. It is currently available in three colors, platinum, sandstone, and ice blue.
Surface Laptop Go review verdict: Better than most budget laptops
The new Go provides impressive performance for a budget laptop. It’s powerful enough to handle activities like video editing and gaming, yet it’s significantly cheaper than many laptops that are designed for such things. It looks good, performs well, and doesn’t require you to break your piggy bank just to get a new PC. Click here to learn more about this laptop.
